Floating in nature’s hot tub, surrounded by beautiful views. That is what you’ll experience when you visit Hot Springs Cove near Tofino on Vancouver Island.
With Atleo Air we flew with a floatplane in 20 minutes from Tofino to Hot Springs Cove. A you can see in below photo’s, the views on the way to the Cove are sure to leave you speechless. And if you are lucky you will see grey whales as well.
Once arriving on the dock follow the path to the left to the Cove. It is an easy and enjoyable 2km walk along an boardwalk trail. You will walk through old forest and after 20-30 minutes you will arrive at the Cove.
The Cove can be visited any time of the year due to its warm water temperature. It has a choice of several pools and mini waterfalls, that decrease in temperature the closer you get to the ocean. I do recommend to wear water shoes as some of the rocks can be sharp and slippery. Near the Cove you will find the change rooms and bathrooms. There are no lockers, so please be careful with your belongings. Further, don’t forget to bring a towel, water, snacks and suncream.
After an hour in the water, we decided to go back. The walk through old forest during golden hour was beautiful.
With Atleo Air we flew back to Tofino. A 20 minute flight with such views is way too short! I took hundred of photo’s, below you will see a few of them.
If you ever get the chance to visit Vancouver Island, you really, really should!
